Scott Leon is a USCG licensed captain and has been fishing his entire life. He has been fortunate enough to fish all over the world. He has tournament fished for billfish all over the Atlantic, Caribbean and Mexico and has fly-fished in just about every kind of water available, from streams to open ocean. He has held several world and state records for various species caught on fly and is an award-winning writer and photographer and the former editor for Fly Fishing in Salt Waters
magazine as well as an editor for Marlin
magazine. He continues to write and contribute to a number of fishing magazines and Web sites.
Scott also taught fly-casting for six years, privately and in conjunction with Jon Cave at Seminole Community College in Lake Mary, Florida as well as at Jon B. Cave’s Fly Fishing School
in Oveido, Florida -- the oldest fly-fishing school in the south and one of the oldest in the country. He still teaches privately. Scott has appeared on several TV shows, including Gulf South Outdoors, and has hosted trips and schools around the U.S. and the Bahamas. While Scott enjoys all forms of fly-fishing, he has been described as having an “Ahabish” obsession with yellowfin tuna and has chased them around the world searching for the elusive 100-pounder.
Paradigm Shift is available for virtually any charter need, including tournaments. We also can arrange special trips to the Baja, Louisiana (for yellowfin and blackfin tuna), Mississippi (for rig fishing for snapper, cobia and amberjack) or almost any other location you prefer. We also take whale watching and site-seeing cruises as well. Rates depend on the charter and location and are priced upon request.
Scott also teaches casting and fly tying and private or group lessons can be arranged.
